Everett didn't want to put on a costume...so I shoved it over his head and took a quick picture and showed it to him. (I'm so grateful for digital cameras!) Then he got the idea.

I was on the phone with my mom today and my boys were playing - quite noisily but also quite happily - on the other side of the room when I look over and see them doing some medieval torture thing to Everett - my baby boy! Picture this: Nash had a hold of his neck and jaw and Brody was on the other end with a hold on Everett's feet. They each had their feet planted firmly where they stood for plenty of traction and they were both pulling with all their might! I don't think Everett knew what to think; he was probably trying to figure out if this is what 'fun' is!?!I just hope they survive each other...and I survive them!

I am going to be babysitting this little girl once or twice a week. I love my boys but I am thrilled to have a baby girl in the house, even if it's only a few hours a week!

That Was Then, This Is Now

This past weekend we went out to California for my high school reuion. I didn't even think I wanted to go, then a few months ago I volunteered to make a DVD slideshow of pictures from our high school days. At that point I was officially appointed to be on the committee. (I know what you're wondering...you're wondering why I get myself involved in these huge projects. The answer is: I dunno...) So after beginning to work on the DVD and see all the pictures and e-mailing back and forth with former classmates, I decided I may as well go. Plus, it was a good excuse to go see our friends and family in California. And now it has come and gone already! The reunion was fun, everyone loved the slideshow, and I was reminded that I have a great life. High school was all well and good, but it doesn't define me or anyone else for that matter...it was four years, left me with good memories and great friends. I will always have a fondness for that time in my life, but I would never ever want to turn back the hands of time!


We got to visit all of my parents while we were there. We didn't have a lot of time, but we squeezed in some fun stuff. Delaney and my Dad jammed on the guitar and drums, respectively. The kids played at their best-friends-in California's houses. My mom and Joe re-opened the 'Spy Room' in their house (a little room they created under the stairs) which the kids loved, and Everett got to discover the ducks at Granny's house! It all went by too fast.


We then traveled to Cedar City to stop, rest, and visit with my dear friend Jennifer and her family. The kids each got to go on a little horse ride, and being that there is a real movie theater there, they also got to see the kid-friendly flick "Igor". After some yummy veggie tacos and too-soon-goodbyes we headed back to Blanding and our home.


Now it's back to normal and I feel a little sad. I think when there is something big event that one looks forward to and plans on and then it's over and done with, it seems all of a sudden sad. Like "What's next?" So I'm not sad, but I feel at a loss for the moment. Give me another day and then life will be all about Halloween preparations and whatever the next big project is...

Today is my mom's birthday!! Yay! This is Delaney, and I am posting this without permission...but with good intentions! (Mom, please don't be mad at me...I just couldn't think of a better way to say "Happy Birthday!)
