A Fond Farewell to my Fizzy Friend...

So, I've given up Diet Coke. Yep, I really did it. And I really enjoyed my soda...the ice cold, sweet, fizzy drink was a fun treat. But not a healthy one unfortunately. So, I quit. Cold turkey. I am posting this because it will be made public to all my friends and now you'll have to hold me to it...and it's taken me two days to post it because I had to be sure I could do it! I also must say goodbye to Diet Dr. Pepper...my most recent fave (but something I learned to love back in high school ~ during soccer season!). Truthfully I have given up any and all soda, but those are the only two that matter! Wish me luck...

Another school year comes to an end...

The school year ended Friday. That means:
Layne finished his 2nd year at ARL Middle School (and still likes it!)
Delaney graduated from 8th grade - I have a HIGH SCHOOLER!
Cooper is going into 7th grade.
Brody will be in 3rd grade.
Nash will start kindergarten.
It will be just me and Everett (and the laundry and the dishes and the little boy I babysit and the bills, etc.) at home!

Here are some pictures from the end of the year:

This is how excited Delaney is that school is out for the summer and she is moving on to high school!

More about Delaney...

This was the last week of school and on Wednesday it was 'Field Day' at the middle school. Crazy Delaney signed up for a million events. Okay, just seven, but still...

The cool thing is she placed in all but one event in her class:

1st place - Long Jump

1st place - Discus

1st place - 100 Meter Dash

2nd place - Shotput

2nd place - Relay

3rd place - Hurdles

The one she didn't place in was the high jump - Sorry Grandpa Joe!

Here are some pics of her with her ribbons.
